MO House Gives Initial Approval to Sports Betting Bills

(MISSOURINET) – Missouri is another step closer to legalizing sports betting. The state House has given preliminary approval to a pair of bills that would allow the form of gambling in the Show Me State. State Representative Dan Houx (howx) of Warrensburg says he is sponsoring the same bill the House passed last year.

House Democrats unsuccessfully tried to boost the sports betting tax on casinos from 10-percent to 21-percent – the same percentage as all other forms of gambling in Missouri. One more House vote of support would send the bills to the Senate for further review, where the efforts have failed in the past.
