North Harrison To Phase Out Daycare Of Early Childhood Center

North Harrison School Board members voted to phase out the operation of the daycare of the district’s Early Childhood Center beginning on January 1st. The action was taken as part of their August meeting. North Harrison will be offering Pre-K services to in-district students, and openings will be available to out of district students paying tuition. Daycare service will only be reduced to North Harrison students and staff.

North Harrison set their tax rate at $4.50 per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. 50 cents of the levy will be directed to the Capital Projects Fund.

A stipend of $2,000 was approved for the “Substitute Coordinator” position for the district. Job descriptions were also approved for Day Care Worker and Day Care Director.

The board declared some items as surplus property. The bid from Grave’s Food was approved for bakery products. Out-of-district tuition was set at $3,500 per student.

The board also approved Kiley Gibson was a middle school math and elementary PE/Health teacher, Cassie Rucker for part-time Food Service, and Derek Wallace as a part-time custodian.
