Parson Continues Push to Expand I-70 in Metro Areas

(MISSOURINET) – Governor Mike Parson is continuing to push his transportation agenda for this year, which centers around expanding Interstate 70 to six lanes in and around St. Louis, Kansas City, and Columbia. He told Missourinet affiliate KDRO in Sedalia that it’s critical to solidifying Missouri’s importance as a transportation corridor for the U-S:

Parson says if it doesn’t get done now, he doesn’t know if it will ever get done. Meanwhile, some lawmakers want to divert some of the 859 million dollars proposed for the governor’s plan to other roadway needs, including upgrading I-44 in Springfield.
