Smithville Woman Arrested Following Pedestrian Incident that Killed a Three-Year-Old Girl Friday Night

(SMITHVILLE, MO) – A three-year-old girl was killed Friday night in Smithville, following an accident where a vehicle that was reversing struck her.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol the 33-year-old driver Lacy James of Smithville was arrested on charges of felony driving while intoxicated causing the death of another that was not a passenger and driving while suspended.

The vehicle that struck the child was a 2014 Ford F-150

She was taken into custody at 12:10 A.M. Saturday to the Clay County Detention Center on a 12 hour hold.
