South Harrison School To Adhere To Mask Order

South Harrison held Monday’s school board meeting in the school’s gymnasium to stay socially distanced with an audience of about 50 patrons who attended the meeting. Superintendent Dennis Eastin says the district will adhere to the guidelines determined by the Harrison County Health Department as their apply to the mask order that begins on Thursday. The guidelines will be followed for all South Harrison events beginning on Thursday when the mask order begins. Superintendent Eastin says the full implementation for the guidelines for the school structure may take some time until after Christmas. Parents with special circumstances or concerns regarding the mask order will be directed to the building principals.

South Harrison’s board recognized outgoing student representative Brooklyn Ellis for her service in the past year. The board also approved the two students who have shown interest in the position. Those two will be part of an election to determine the new student representative.

South Harrison’s board approved the 2021-22 calendar. That calendar will include a starting date of August 24th and will end on May 20th of 2022.
