St. Joe PD Looking For Suspect In Monday Morning Shooting

St. Joseph Police are still on the search for a man that is the suspect in a Monday morning shooting at a Dollar General Store that left two people with injuries.

Authorities say the shooting took place at about 10:20 A.M. Monday when a man in his 20’s and a juvenile were shot while leaving the Dollar General near 17th and Messanie Streets. Police believe the suspect, Byron Miller, was waiting for the man to exit the store before the shooting.

Law enforcement surrounded a home believed to be the residence of Miller and a standoff ensued before authorities forced their way in, but they say Miller was not in the residence.

Authorities say they are continuing to search for Miller. They say the two shooting victims suffered non-life threatening injuries.
