Trio left With Minor Injuries In Wednesday Night Rollover Accident

A trio of people, including a Polo resident and a one-year-old, were left with minor injuries in a one-vehicle rollover accident Wednesday night in Clay County.

Troop A of the Highway Patrol says 19-year-old Polo resident Alexzandria K. McConnell was driving a 2017 Chevy Malibu southbound on U.S. 69 Highway south of Cameron Road, just north of Mosby, at 11:35 Wednesday night when the vehicle went off the left side of the roadway and overturned.

According to the accident report, McConnell was not wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries. A one-year-old passenger from Polo was properly buckled up but suffered minor injuries. Both were taken by private vehicle to Excelsior Springs Hospital for treatment.

Another passenger in the vehicle, Hailey Diaz, suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene. The report says she was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
