Two Cameron Residents Injured in Crash on Ice-Covered Roads

ANDREW COUNTY, MO – Two Cameron residents were taken to the hospital with serious injuries following an accident caused by an ice-covered roadway in Andrew County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the crash occurred as 31-year old Cameron resident Casey Burnett was northbound on I-29, four miles north of St. Joseph around 7:30 a.m. when he lost control on the ice-covered road.  Burnett traveled off the roadway into the median where his vehicle overturned.  The vehicle then returned to the roadway where it came to rest on its top.

A tractor-trailer operated by a St. Joseph resident struck several items which were thrown from the bed of Burnett’s pickup.  The tractor-trailer was able to come to a controlled stop.

Burnett and his passenger, 36-year old James Lillard, also of Cameron, were taken to Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph.
