Two MO State Senators of Opposite Parties Don’t Support Constitutional Convention Ballot Measures

(MISSOURINET) –  Two state Senators from different political parties say they don’t support a ballot measure that will ask Missouri voters on Tuesday if the state needs a new constitution. If passed, the ballot measure would trigger a constitutional convention in Missouri in which delegates could rewrite the entire document, make a few changes, or leave it as-is. Missouri Senate President Dave Schatz (shots), a Republican, says the question is confusing….

State Senator Jill Schupp (shoop), a Democrat, says now is not a good time to hold a convention to change the Constitution.

If passed, any changes would then go before Missouri voters for final approval.
