Winston Schools Extend Closure Until April 27

The Winston School District today announced they have extended their closure due to the Coronavirus through at least April 27.

Superintendent Brian Robinsonsent teh following letter to district families-

Dear Winston Families,

Winston R-VI School District will remain closed until April 27 due to COVID-19 and CDC guidelines.  Our first concern is for the health and safety of our children and staff during this time.  While our school buildings are closed, our commitment to our students remains the same. Our entire staff is working hard to ensure we can continue to provide support for our students and our communities.

Students and teachers will continue extended learning during this period and longer if necessary.  Teachers are making contact repeatedly throughout the week with students and at least weekly with parents.  If parents ever have questions they can always reach out to the teacher or the school office.  There is also a Drop Box located in front of the school so that student work can be dropped off during the hours that someone is not present at the school.

For those students participating in the meal program, meals are being delivered with double lunches and breakfasts for the next day on Monday and Wednesday and a lunch and breakfast for the next day on Friday.  If you would like your student to be added to this service contact the school by emailing Superintendent Brian Robinson at [email protected] or calling 660-339-6462.

Stay Strong and Safe Redbirds,

Brian Robinson, Superintendent”
