MIAA Football’s Rookie Officials Incoming Class Makes History

The MIAA has hired a full-time a woman as a full-time football official for the first time in the league’s history.

Taylor Darr will be one of 11 football officials in the MIAA rookie class. She graduated from Kansas State in 2018 and began working a full high school varsity schedule and was hired as a swing official for the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference. She was then hired full time by the KJCCC and in the Kansas College Athletic conference. She has worked for those two leagues in the last 3 years.

Former Pittsburg State quarterback Zac Dickey will also be part of the 2022 rooking officials class. He was quarterback of Pittsburg State’s 2011 national championship team and graduated with a degree in international/global studies. He now works as an agency president at AssuredPartners in Wichita.

The MIAA football season begins Thursday, September 1st.
