Graceland Names Rodeo Coach to Build Program

The selection has been made to build Graceland’s new rodeo program. Professional bull rider John Young of Orient has been selected to be Graceland’s first rodeo head coach. Graceland announce an intent to create a rodeo program earlier this year. Graceland will be competing within the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association. Young has participated in competitive rodeo for 15 years and competed as a bull rider in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. He was a regional champion while attending Iowa Central Community College and competing in Rodeo. Graceland’s rodeo team will start competing in the fall of 2020. The emphasis between now and then will be recruiting and the other elements with beginning a rodeo program.
