Missouri Hall Of Fame Coach Announces Retirement At Platte Valley

The announcement was made Tuesday that Platte Valley Boys Head Basketball Coach Tim Jermain will be retiring after 34 years as a high school basketball coach.

He began his career as Head Boys Basketball Coach for Albany and coached for 10 seasons. He was also Head Girls Basketball Coach at Albany for his last 4 seasons at Albany. His last girls team at Albany qualified for the Show Me Showdown and finished 3rd Place in Class 1. He then spent the next 24 years as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Jefferson, and later, Platte Valley. He coached 9 boys teams which qualified for the Show Me Showdown and won 4 MSHSAA Class 1 Boys Basketball Championships, including a three-peat from 2006-08. He also coached girls basketball at Jefferson for 2 seasons. In total, he won a total of 889 games, 24 conference championships, and 21 district championships. He was named as the Missouri Basketball Coaches Association Coach of the Year 5 times.

Current Platte Valley Girls Coach Tyler Pedersen will become the Boys High School Basketball Coach at Platte Valley. Aaron Murphy will become the new Platte Valley Girls Basketball Coach.
