NW Women’s Soccer Earns First Ever NCAA Bid

 

For the first tiem in program history the Northwest Missouri State women’s soccer team is heading to the NCAA Division II tournament.

The Bearcats were selected as an at-large team an given a number seven seed. That designation will earn them a date Friday afternoon with a familiar foe, the number two seed Emproa State Hornets, the team that eliminated Northwest fromthe MIAA tournametn 2-0 last week and ultimately won the MIAA Championship.

Kickoff in Emporia is slated fro 1 P.M.

The winner of the match will advance to play on Sunday against the winner of three seed Bemidji State and six seed Cental Oklahoma on Sunday in Emporia.

On the other side of the bracket four seed Minnesota State will take on five seed Oklahoma Baptist at 10 A.M. Friday, followed by top seed Central Missouri facing eight seed Southwestern Oklahoma at 1 P.M.

The Bearcats have set school records for wins (13), goals (41), assists (32) and shots on goal (161).
