Betty Jean Reynolds, 86, St. Joseph, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2023.

She was born Jan. 8, 1937, in St. Joseph, to Glen and Bessie (Walker) Woods. She graduated from Lafayette High School in 1955.

Betty married Neil Ellis Reynolds on June 29, 1956. He survives of the home.

She was a secretary for the Missouri State Welfare Office in the Division of Family Services for many years.

Betty was a longtime member and Sunday School teacher at St. Paul United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed reading, beautiful sunsets and decorating the house for the seasons. Betty was a wonderful cook known for her coffee cake, cheese grits and her world-famous chocolate chip cookies.

Betty loved her family very much and was always “up for anything.”

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Deanna Gibson.

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Neil; children, Kirk Reynolds and Kathy Blair (Brian); six grandchildren, Audrie and Gracie Blair, Michael Wilson, Tyler Sisk, Kylie Reynolds (Joe), and Chase Reynolds; sister, Pat Borkowski; numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Service 1 p.m. Tuesday, St. Paul United Methodist Church. Private Interment prior to service, Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation one hour prior to service.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the American Bible Society, St. Paul United Methodist Church, or a charity of the donor’s choice.
