Alice Gard

Alice L Gard, 88, of Columbia, MO, and former resident of Maryville, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at South Hampton Place in Columbia.

Alice was born on September 21, 1935 to Verna and Marvin Collins and grew up in Skidmore, MO. She graduated in 1953.  She married Dean Gard on October 4, 1953, at the Skidmore Missouri Christian Church.  They later divorced.  They had 5 children from this union.

Alice and Dean owned Maryville Implement, the local John Deere dealership.  She also worked at Dillard’s, JC Penney, and owned Kids Stuf children’s clothing store.

In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her brothers Eldon, Ron, and Jack, and daughter Vicki Morriss.

Alice is survived by her children, Dennis (Lynn) Gard, Daniel Gard, Edgewood, NM, Stephen (Amanda) Gard, and Karen (Daniel) Wiederholt, Lees Summit, MO; son-in-law Terry Morriss, sister Joan Walker, brothers Dr. Howard Collins and Dr. David Collins, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, sister in laws, and friends.

Services will be held Tuesday, October 24th from 2-3 pm and visitation will be preceding the service from 1-2 pm. Both will be held at Price Funeral Home, Maryville, MO.
