Barbara Lee Neil

Blue Springs, Missouri… Barbara Lee Neil, age 95, passed away on October 22nd, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 29th, 1927, in St. Joseph, Missouri, to Harry H. and Lula Opal (Cogdill) Stansch.

Barbara married the love of her life, Donnie Neil, on March 23, 1947, in Maysville, Missouri, and to this union a daughter was born.

She worked in the office at Northwest State University in Maryville while her husband, Donnie attended school there. After they moved to the Blue Springs area, she worked at the Blue Springs Bank. She then worked as a secretary in an elementary school in the Blue Springs School District and also in the central office at the Blue Springs School District for 29 years.

Barbara loved music, her piano, snow skiing in Colorado, traveling to Hawaii, and she especially loved her family and her dogs!

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband with whom she shared 75 years together; her brother, Herschel; and great-granddaughter, Miley.

Survivors include her daughter, Cynthia Walsh, grandson, Neil Walsh; six great-grandchildren, Riyder, Eayston, Jaxon, Noah, Stella, and Patsy.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville, with burial immediately following at Butler Cemetery.
Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.
