Barbara Swank
1967 – 2022
Heaven has received another angel. Barbara Ellaine “Barb” Swank passed away December 22 nd , 2022, at
5:30 pm in her home surrounded by family, after a brave and hard-fought battle with cancer.
Barb came into this world January 15 th , 1967, a bright light born to Donald and Patricia Favor. Full of
love for life. As a child she was mostly at home outdoors riding horses, playing in the dirt, and climbing
trees. Barb graduated from Harrison County R-4 in Gilman City, class of 1985. That passion carried on
through her life and she never lost her love for gardening, canning, and fishing. Each day was a new
adventure, but she loved her family. Especially her husband, children, and grandchildren. Barb spent the
last twenty years of her life loving her husband, Myrle Wayne Swank. She will always be remembered
for her optimism and strength. That steady calm for her family and friends.
Barb was a member of the Shelburne Baptist church and their music director for multiple years. She
was instrumental in directing the children’s music program and enjoyed every minute of singing with the
community. She was also a talented musician playing piano, organ, and had a beautiful singing voice.
She was an active member of the Christian Motorcycle Association CMA and a devout Christian. Barb
was employed by Tucker Chiropractic Center and then Hunter White Chiropractic as an office manager
prior to retiring in 2020.
She left behind her husband, Myrle Wayne Swank, her children, Danny (Rachel) King, Michael King,
Matt (Carissa) Swank, Chasity (Tony) Ferguson; grandchildren: Kaleb King, Gregory King, Nathen King,
Zac Ferguson, Nolan Ferguson, Halle Ferguson, Nate Ferguson, Brent Ferguson, Jace Ferguson, Victoria
Swank, Traeh Swank, and Mattee Swank; her mother, Patricia Favor and sisters, Judy Favor, Becky
(Dave) Lyons, and Pam (Eric) Padget; nieces and nephews: Kaylie (Tim) Ridgeway, Brady Lyons, Karrissa
Lyons, Brendyn Padget, Allyson Padget, and Corryn Padget and including aunts, uncles, cousins, and
special friends.
She was preceded in death by Donald Favor her father, Barbara Swank her mother-in-law, and Jacob
King her grandson.
Goodbye Barbie Girl as Myrle Wayne affectionately would call you. Save us a place for we will all be
together again and finally our broken hearts will become whole.
