Stanberry, MO: Carol Jean Evans, 87, Stanberry, MO passed away Sunday, March 26, 2023, at a
Maryville, MO care center.
She was born on October 20, 1935, in Stanberry, Missouri the daughter of Ross and Viola
Marie (Shanks) Cooper.
On January 10, 1954, she married Georgie Lee Evans. He preceded her in death on January
24, 2019.
Carol was a committed homemaker and farm wife and later in life worked as a Licensed
Practical Nurse. She was a member of the Guilford United Methodist Church and enjoyed
music, especially piano, and learning genealogy.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gary “Buzz” Cooper, and sister,
Delores O’Neal.
Carol is survived by her sons, Ryan (Cheryl) Evans, Des Moines, IA, Edward Evans, Maryville,
MO, and Doug (Mary) Evans, Guilford, MO; daughter, Brenda Evans, Tracy, MO; sister, Colleen
Lane, Stanberry, MO; brother, Jerry Cooper, St. Joseph, MO; 8 grandchildren; 12 great
grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carol has been cremated under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry, MO.
Memorial Graveside Services and Inurnment will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 6 in
High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Stanberry,
MO. Memorials may be made to the Stanberry Senior Center and/or the American Cancer
