Gregg William Widner

Gregg William Widner, 47, of Mercer, MO passed away Friday, November 6, 2020.

He was born July 15, 1973 in Unionville, Missouri the son of Garry William and Ann Azella (Guffey) Widner.

On June 4, 1994, he married Dana Marie Nickell in Lineville, Iowa.  She survives of the home.

Gregg graduated from Mercer High School in 1991.  He graduated from NCMC with a degree in Ag Business and Farm Management in 1994. He worked as a combination technician for Grand River Mutual Telephone Corporation since 1999.  Gregg was the president of the NTCA Union.  He previously served as a member and president of the North Mercer R-III school board for twelve years. He loved farming and enjoyed hunting. He was baptized into the family of God August 3, 1997 at the Mercer Baptist Church.

Survivors in addition to his wife, Dana, are sons, Grant William Widner, Mercer, MO and Garrett Wayne Widner, Chillicothe, MO; parents, Garry and Ann Widner, Mercer, MO; brothers, Scott (Tammy) Widner, Gallatin, MO, Brian (Jill) Widner, Ludlow, MO and Matt (Christa) Widner, Newtown, MO; sister, Melissa (Josh) Wardlow, Grand Prairie, Texas and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 11 at Ravanna Cemetery, Ravanna, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Princeton, MO.  Friends may call from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to North Mercer R-III Scholarship Foundation to be given to a student pursuing an Agricultural degree in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
