Jeffrey Lynn Hash, age 65, of Leon, passed away Saturday, January 13, 2024, at MercyOne Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa.

Jeff was born March 15, 1958, in Leon, Iowa. He was the beloved son of Molly Ivins. Jeff attended school at Central Decatur through his 11th grade. Jeff had a passion for driving semis, and he worked for various companies throughout his entire life. About all truck drivers have a C.B. ‘handle’ and Jeff went by “The Gambler.” Trucking led him to meet the love of his life and best friend, Teena, while she was working as a waitress at the Feed Bunk restaurant. Jeff and Teena were united in marriage on April 23, 1983. To this union one child was born, Amber Sue. Jeff received his GED in 1990. In May of 2006, Jeff began working at Ideal Ready Mix driving a mixer. A year later, Jeff became the plant manager. He was the “Ideal Man”!

Jeff loved spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed spending time sitting on the porch, gardening, tinkering in his garage, and mowing his yard. Jeff and Teena enjoyed camping and vacationing with family. Sunday dinners were enjoyed and shared. So many memories were made during these times. One of Jeff’s favorite things was spending time with his grandkids and any friends they brought with them. He was a grandpa to all of them and the past daycare kids.

Jeff was preceded in death by his mother, Molly Louise Ivins, father & mother-in-law Melvin & Judy Doolittle, and brother-in-law Luis Poblete.
