Larry Keith Egger, age 84, of Leon, Iowa, the only child of Floyd Raymond and Lorraine Alice (Curry) Egger, was born January 27, 1937, in Kellerton, Iowa. He passed from this life at 8:13 p.m. on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at the Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston, Iowa.

Larry’s grandparents, Bert and Alma Curry, and his uncle, Bert, Jr. were a big influence in Larry’s life. He spent a lot of time with them growing up. Larry graduated from Leon High School with the Class of 1955. He then joined the United States Army. While serving in Louisiana, he met Sharon Kay Russell. They were married October 28, 1962, and after his discharge, they moved to Larry’s hometown, Leon. They were blessed with one daughter, Eva Christine.

Over the years, Larry was an over the road truck driver and mechanic for various companies. His last jobs were with Decatur County and then Miller Products in Osceola, Iowa. He was a tinkerman and loved to fix things, work puzzles, play Solitaire on the computer and be with his dog, Albert.

Preceding him in death were his parents; and siblings, Gary Moomey, Reva Thomas, and Evelyn Beasley. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Egger of Leon, Iowa; daughter, Christine Bear and husband, Larry of Thayer, Iowa; granddaughters, Devin Bear and companion, James Bozarth of Afton, Iowa and Jacklyn Coe and husband, Jarrod of Osceola, Iowa; great grandchildren, Jemma Bear, Remi Bear, Harrison Bozarth, Madison Bozarth, Julianna Coe, and another one due in October; brothers, Don and Belva Egger and Dan Egger; sisters-in-law, Sue Holt and husband, Wayne of Mitchell, Indiana and Juanita Jean of Marshfield, Missouri; brother-in-law, Harry Russell and wife, Marylee of Mitchell; nieces and nephews; cousins, Debbie Williams and Sherry Bloom, both of Missouri and Linda Curry of Des Moines, Iowa; and other relatives and friends.
