Lavena Crystal Lowrey

Lavena Crystal Lowrey, 96, Pattonsburg, MO passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at a Bethany, MO nursing home.

She was born on February 2, 1924 in McFall, Missouri the daughter of Clarence and Iona (Matthews) Gardner.

On April 7, 1941, she married Delbert R. Lowrey. He preceded her in death on October 31, 2006.

Lavena was Salutatorian of her Mcfall graduating class in 1941. Lavena was a member of the Heath United Methodist Church, Pattonsburg, MO, VFW Ladies Auxiliary, 4-H Leader, member of the Crossroads Sewing Club, and a Tree Climbers charter member. In her spare time she made lap robes for the VA home, hospitals, and nursing homes. She compiled several genealogy books and was a board member and volunteer at the Pattonsburg Senor Center, daily, until failing health forced her to quit.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; sons, William Martin and Tommie Lowrey, and one brother, Chloral Gardner.

Lavena is survived by her son, Bruce (Marilyn) Lowrey, Independence, MO; daughters, Evelyn (Butch) Bayne, Pattonsburg, MO and Janellda (Michael) Weber, Coffey, MO; grandchildren, David (Betsy) Lowrey, Scott (Amy) Lowrey, Angela (Scott) Crowder, Jessica (David) Barnett, and Brianna Weber; nine great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside Services and Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, August 10 in Pattonsburg Memorial Gardens, Pattonsburg, MO under the direction of Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO. Friends may call from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday at Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg, MO where masks are recommended and social distancing will be observed.
