Shane Michael Wright

Shane Michael Wright, age 56, of Lathrop, Missouri passed away December 1, 2022 at Liberty Hospital. He was born June 17, 1966 to Michael Wright and Mary Ellen (Tsoutsouvas) Wright. He graduated from Kearney High School in 1984, and worked for several years at Worlds of Fun as both a seasonal and permanent staff member. While working there, he met his future wife, Rebecca (Garner) Wright. They were happily married for 26 years.

He began his career with KC Store Fixtures in 1995 as a salesman, and worked his way up through the company during his 27 years of service. After moving to Lathrop in 1999, Shane and his family began attending First Baptist Church of Lathrop, where he served as a Sunday School teacher, treasurer, and deacon. He was also very active with his daughter Katherine in her homeschool and 4-H activities. He also enjoyed camping and in recent years, he enjoyed his new hobby of amateur ham radio—a hobby he shared with his father.

He is survived by his wife Rebecca; his daughter Katherine, of Marion, Alabama; his parents, Michael and Mary Ellen Wright, of Lawson; his brother Brett Wright and his wife Spring, of Stewartsville; his sister Sarah Wright, of Kansas City, Missouri; his nieces and nephews Jessie Wright, Ashton Maycock, Lilly (Wright) Louden and her husband James, Eli Wright and his wife Brianna, and Kaelynn Davis, along with his aunts, uncles, and cousins.

The family is very grateful to the Tri-County Ambulance Service and Liberty Hospital for their compassionate care.

Services will be Tuesday, December 6th at First Baptist Church of Lathrop, with Pastor Donnie Quinn officiating. Visitation will begin at 10 am, with the funeral service following at 11 am. Burial will follow at Lathrop Cemetery.
