Vera May (Suter) King went home to Jesus on May 4th, 2023, at age 82.

She was born to Festus Cash and Verda May Suter on May 31th, 1940, in Breckenridge Missouri. She was raised in the Assembly of God Church where she was baptized at the age of 10. She went to Breckenridge school until 10th grade when they moved to Star City Arkansas, where she graduated high school. She then moved to Saint Joseph Missouri and worked at Donnely’s Dress Factory. She worked with a woman who wanted her to meet her brother. That is how she met Don in October 1959. They were married on June 5th, 1960.

Don and Vera bought their farm north of Grant City where they lived for their entire married life. To this union three children were born: Karen, Alan and Judy. In addition to being a loving mother and wife Vera also was a homemaker, raised a large garden, canned and maintained the yard and house. She also helped with the dairy and raised baby calves, chickens and pigs.

After moving to Grant City, Vera attended the United Brethren Church that was located by the Fletchall Cemetery. After it closed, a few years later she began attending the Grant City Baptish Church. Here she served as church hostess for 14 years. Throughout her entire life, she held an unwavering faith in God, which she shared with those who surrounded her.

Vera was proceeded in death by her parents, four siblings, husband Don, son-in-law John Baker and great-grandson Scott Baker.

She is survived by her three children: Karen (Marvin) Bohling, Alan (Robin) King, Judy (Wayne) Hayes. 10 grandchildren: Ben (Marie) King, Zach King, Patricia Baker, Jeremiah (Kati) Bohling, Jacob King, Chester (Alexis) Bohling, Isaac (Abigail) King, David Baker, Sarah (Dyllon) Nelson, Hannah (Zachary) Milligan. 14 great-grandchildren: Hazel, Peter & Johnathan King. Alyssa Clark. Blaine & Bennett Bohling. Elizabeth, Joanna & Grace King. Kelly Baker. Luke & Kami Nelson. Samuel & James Milligan.

Funeral will be held Monday May 8th, 2023, at 2pm at the Prugh-Dunfee Funeral Home, Grant City. Burial will be at the Fletchall Cemetery immediately following the funeral. Family will receive friends and family 2 hour before the funeral. Donations can be made to the Fletchall Cemetery.
