PARKVILLE, Mo. — Mr. William “Bill” John Reichen, 80, Parkville, Missouri, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Linden Woods Village in Gladstone, Missouri. Bill was born Feb. 28, 1943, to Walter Alfred and Florence Ester (Mandeville) Reichen, in St. Joseph.

Bill is a veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam Era. Returning home, Bill continued his education and earned his master’s degree in business. He spent the majority of his working career as an accountant with Farmland Industries in Kansas City, Missouri; he later worked as the accountant for Artco Casket Company in the Kansas City metro area until his retirement.

Bill loved his wife and four daughters more than anything else. He always found time to attend all of their school activities, sporting events, graduations, and weddings. Bill enjoyed traveling both domestically and internationally, traveling to Europe 7 times. He shared his love of music with his daughters in their younger years introducing them to music groups such as The Beatles, Beach Boys and Chicago and then taking them to actual concerts.

He will forever be remembered for his sense of humor, pure orneriness, always being the handyman fixing anything and everything. He was the heart and soul to our family and will be deeply missed.

Bill was proud of his Swiss heritage; learning that his grandmother and grandfather both immigrated to the United States from Switzerland unbeknownst to each other until they met in their new homeland. The Reichen legacy continues into its 6th generation in the United States.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Linda Reichen; four beautiful daughters: Tracie Breeding (Kurt); Niki Hudson (Todd); Brandi Reichen-Jones (Shirley); and Lindsey Guy (Tim); nine grandchildren: Luke Breeding (Laura); Abbey Lindberg (Cameron); Sydney Nelson (Andrew); Raegan Dickerson (Draven); Gracie Hudson; Aidyn Guy; Marlie McNerney; Turner McNerney and Paddy Guy; two great-grandchildren: Frederick Nelson and Rowan Dickerson; a sister Eileen Neely (William).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Reichen and Florence Reichen.
