Meet Baxter! Our Pet of the Week!

Please meet Baxter! Baxter is a handsome tri-colored hound mix who we estimate to be approximately 2 to 3 years old.

Baxter came to Green Hills Animal Shelter after being found wandering the streets as a stray. When he first arrived at the shelter he was very thin from having to search for food, but since arriving at GHAS and receiving regular meals and care, he is starting to fill out and growing more handsome and playful every day!

Baxter is a sweet dog who still has the energy and happy disposition of a puppy. He LOVES to play, and would gladly spend all day playing fetch with a tennis ball, which just happens to be his favorite game. Baxter loves to be with people, and shelter staff joke that he is like a little kangaroo happily bouncing everywhere. He is a very gentle boy whose personality would make him a wonderful family dog and a faithful friend for a family with children.

If Baxter could describe his perfect Forever Home, he would ask for an active home where he could spend lots of time with his family. He would love to have a securely fenced yard where he could play fetch with his family and where he could explore the world safely without his hound nose leading him too far astray. He would be very excited to get to go on long leashed walks and share the wonders of the world with his special person. Baxter would be quite happy to be a part of a family with children, and he would also be content to share his home with another canine.

Baxter will go to his Forever Home neutered, de-wormed, heartworm tested and up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies.  He is a happy pup who is sure to fill his Forever Home with joy; could that home be yours?
