Meet Duke! Our Pet of the Week!

Meet Duke!  Our Pet of the Week!  Duke is brought to you by the Green Hills Animal Shelter in Trenton and is sponsored by Princeton Physical Therapy and Tolsen Grain.

We’d like to introduce you to Duke! Duke is a handsome, young German Shepherd mix who is only about 1 year old. Duke came to Green Hills Animal Shelter along with his brother, Bo, who is also looking for a home of his own. Duke and Bo were abandoned in a rural area as puppies and the kind family who found them raised them, but due to a change in life they recently found themselves unable to keep their unexpected charges and brought them to the shelter to help them find a new forever family or families of their own.

Duke is a loving and friendly pup who loves kids and loves his brother, Bo. He is affectionate, smart and loyal … a wonderful combination! At only one year old, Duke still has a lot of puppy in him, and he enjoys running and playing. His previous family tells us that he is gentle with both adults and children and is a good protector.

If Duke could describe his perfect Forever Home he would ask for a home with lots of room for him to safely run and play and for a family who would spend lots of time with him.  He would very much enjoy a home with children and would be a great dog for a child to grow up with as their special, loyal companion. Duke would also enjoy a home with other dogs, and he would especially love if someone were to adopt both him and his brother Bo together.

Duke will go to his Forever Home neutered, de-wormed, heartworm tested and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies.  He is an all-around good boy who just wants a family to love; could that family be yours?

For more information on Duke, his brother Bo, or any of the pets waiting for their homes at Green Hills Animal Shelter, please phone the shelter at 660-359-2700. We are temporarily open by appointment only, but will be happy to schedule a time for you to meet  Duke and his fur-riends!
