Pet Of The Week – Fatty
Shelters are a lifeline for animals who are looking for their Forever Homes, but adjusting to the shelter and its new sights, sounds, and smells can be scary, especially for pets who are a bit older and have come to us from the only home they have ever known, so pets like Fatty tug especially hard on our heartstrings.
Fatty is a beautiful long-haired Silver Tabby who will be 9 years old this August. Before coming to Green Hills Animal Shelter he had a home of his own where he was very loved, but then life threw a curve and Fatty was brought to the shelter. The new environment was very scary to Fatty and seeing him frightened and not understanding what had happened broke our hearts.
Despite being scared, Fatty is a sweet boy who is super loving and cuddly once he gets to know you. He is a big guy whose size leads us to believe that there may be genetics from a larger breed of cat hiding beneath his gorgeous fur, and if you have never experienced an extra-large kitty like Fatty purring away on your lap you are missing out on one of life’s sweetest experiences. Fatty has been around other cats, dogs, and children and does well with all three. He is litterbox trained and Fatty has also been front-paw declawed.
If Fatty could describe his perfect Forever Home he would first tell us that because he is declawed he will need to remain an indoor-only kitty. He would also tell us that he needs a calm home where he can have time to decompress as he gets to know his new family. He would love to once again be the center of someone’s universe and in return, he promises all the love and purrs you could ever imagine. Fatty would be content to share his home with another kitty, a cat-friendly canine, or gentle children.
Fatty will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, FIV/FeLV tested, and up to date on all vaccinations. He is the sweetest of boys, who sincerely deserves to be in a home; could you find a place in your heart and home for Fatty?
