Pet Of The Week – Flower

Please meet Flower. Flower is a sweet 7 year old Yorkie mix who came to Green Hills Animal Shelter after her former owners moved and left her behind in an apartment. Flower arrived at the shelter hungry, covered in fleas and suffering from a skin infection, but she quickly showed us that she wasn’t going to give up and that despite being left behind, she has so much love to give.

Since arriving at the shelter, Flower has gotten a haircut and received meds for both the fleas and her skin infection, and we are happy to share that her skin is healing wonderfully and is now soft and smooth, as it should be. Her hair is growing back and as it grows, we can see her beautiful golden coat emerging.

Despite all she has been through, Flower is as sweet as (dare we say it?) a flower. She is friendly and she loves people. Flower also still has a lot of pep in her step, and she loves to go on walks. She walks beautifully on her leash, and is always happy to accompany shelter staff and volunteers on walks around the shelter grounds.

If Flower could describe her perfect home, she would say that the most important thing to her is to be with someone who will love her and who will truly be her Forever Person. Flower does well with other dogs and would be quite happy to have a furry sibling, but she would ask us to bear in mind that she is small in size, and she is still healing. Likewise, Flower would also be content in a home with older children, but because her skin is still healing, she would prefer not to be in a home with very small children who might not understand where not she is still sensitive and healing, such as under her arms.

Flower has been spayed, de-wormed, heartworm tested, and is up to date on all her vaccinations, including rabies. She is ready and waiting for her Forever Home; could that home be yours?
