Pet Of The Week – Hamlet

If you are looking for a “smedium” sized dog who is happy to take life easy, you might be looking for Hamlet! What is a “smedium” sized dog, you ask?  Well, that is a medium-sized dog who is stuffed into a small body; in other words, Hamlet is a little bit of a chunky monkey!

Hamlet, who staff has affectionately nicknamed “Pork Chop”, was transferred to Green Hills Animal Shelter by a rural shelter that was so smitten with him that they wanted to put him in a place where he would get more exposure to help him find a wonderful Forever Home. And it didn’t take long to see why his previous shelter friends were so smitten because Hamlet is an awesome dog!

Hamlet, with his short legs and chunky body, is a sweet boy who is friendly and affectionate.  He loves attention and would make a great companion dog. Hamlet is a proud graduate of the Puppies for Parole Program, having mastered basic obedience as well as potty training. He is an easy-care pup who doesn’t require much exercise; he just likes to go outside to potty and then come right back inside.

If Hamlet could describe his perfect Forever Home, he would ask for a calm home where he can be an indoor dog and spend all his time enjoying being with his person. He would enjoy having a comfy bed of his own, and of course, he would love a treat now and then. Hamlet gets along well with other dogs and would be happy to share his home with a canine friend, but he respectfully requests not to be part of a large pack because he is a pup who likes to be in charge. Hamlet would be happy to be part of a home with older children or he would be equally content to be a special companion to an older person who would like a dedicated companion to spoil.

Hamlet will go to his Forever Home neutered, dewormed, heartworm tested, and up to date on all vaccinations including rabies.  He is a perfect little gentleman guaranteed to fill your days with smiles; could you make his dream of a Forever Home come true?
