Tarkio Driver Seriously Injured, And Cited, In Early Morning Accident
A Tarkio driver was seriously injured, and cited, following a one vehicle accident early Thursday morning on U.S. 59 Highway north of Tarkio.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 58 year old Linda Peterson was driving northbound on 59, 3 miles north of Tarkio, and went off the side of the roadway with her vehicle. The vehicle struck a ditch and fence, and then overturned. The vehicle came to rest on its top. She received seriously injuries from the accident and was taken to Community Hospital in Maryville. 61 year old Clifford Smith of Tarkio was a passenger in the vehicle and received moderate injuries. He was also taken to the hospital.
The accident was reported at 1:25am Thursday morning. Linda Peterson was also cited for Misdemeanor DWI. The Atchison County Sheriff’s Department assisted the highway patrol.
