3 Injured, 2 Seriously, In Nodaway County Accident

Three Maryville residents were injured, two seriously, following a two vehicle accident Friday evening west of Maryville.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports 27 year old Makenzie Cobb of Maryville was driving southbound on Hawk Road , approached Highway 71, and stopped at a stop sign. The report says she failed to yield to an approaching vehicle and while she attempted to avoid a collision, she turned into the path of a vehicle that was approaching the intersection. 74 year old Shoba Brown of Maryville was driving the other vehicle. The vehicle struck head on.

77 year old Karen Fulton and 63 year old Bridget Brown of Maryville were seriously injured in the accident. 81 year old Richard Fulton of Maryville was also injured. All were taken to Mosaic Life Care in Maryville.

The accident took place just after 5:30 Friday evening. The Nodaway County Sheriff’s Department, the Nodaway County Ambulance, the Maryville Fire Department, and the Life-Flight Air Ambulance assisted the Highway Patrol.
