Albany Council Holds Reorganizational Session

Albany’s Board of Aldermen held their reorganizational meeting following the April 5th election Tuesday night.

The oaths to office were administered to Mayor Barbara Murray, Tonya McCampbell in the South Ward, and Craig Gillespie in the North Ward.

The board also elected Craig Gillespie as the President of the Board.

The council revised the fiscal year budget for the general fund, the library fund, and parks fund.

A contract was approved with Porter Trash Service for solid waste collection.

The council also approved an increase in the monthly service charge for the disposal of solid waste.
