An Area Student Competed On National Spelling Bee Stage

(MISSOURINET) –  The nation’s top spellers are in the Washington, D.C. area today for an annual battle of the spelling minds. Three of Missouri’s seven spellers are moving on to the next round Wednesday – they from Columbia, Blue Springs, and St. Louis.
Julianna Mullins, of Trenton, spelled the word vitiate (vishy-ate) correctly.

Her time at the bee has come to a close after incorrectly answering the meaning for the word ebullience (e-BOOLY-yence).
