Area FFA Chapters Partner In Ag Literacy Program

Three area FFA Chapters have partnered with the Missouri Farmers Care Foundation for their “Agriculture Education on the Move” program. That program attempts to bring agricultural-based education to elementary classrooms in Missouri with a 10-week ag literacy program intended to educate students about crops, livestock, soil and water conservation, and nutrition. FFA students leaders are used to present the agricultural topics.

The Maysville, Tri-County, and Lathrop FFA chapters are some of the new partners for the “Agricultural Education on the Move” program.

The program included 43 Maysville Elementary students, 25 Tri-County Elementary students, and 65 Lathrop Elementary students.

The free Ag Education on the Move Coloring Fun App is also offered for elementary students through the summer months. The app gives youth an opportunity to virtually explore their connection to the food they eat, fuel they use, and fiber they as they color their way through the farm.

The app is available on Google Play, Apple App Store and Amazon Appstore at this link. Free, downloadable partner resources are available at www.agmoves.com/resources to provide additional summer fun and learning.
