Bethany Business Owners and City Leaders Take Part in Main Street Connection Town Hall

BETHANY, MO – Several Bethany business owners, city leaders and interested parties met Monday night at a town hall meeting for the Main Street Connection Program.

Presenters from Missouri Main Street Connection presented attendees with a four-step program aimed at revitalization of the downtown business district. Those steps focus on designing a program to rehabilitate the area to provide a more attractive atmosphere for new businesses and consumers; the development of a marketing strategy to bring events and people downtown; and ideas on how to develop financial and technical assistance for business owners.

Those attending participated in a break-out session to develop potential goals for each of the four points. The next step will be a survey which will be sent out in May to get a better idea of the direction the community and businesses would like to take.

Missouri Main Street Connection works with over 180 communities throughout the state and provides assistance in planning downtown revitalizations, locating funding sources, and building a long-term plan unique to each city.
