Bethany’s July Sales Tax Revenue Reaches 10-Year High

Bethany’s City Council approved the tax levy for the city during a meeting held Monday night.

The tax levy for the City of Bethany was set at 86 cents per hundred dollars of assessed valuation. The levy breaks down into 55 cents for the General Fund and 31 cents for the Road fund.

The council does plan to approve the ordinance necessary to enact the rezoning request of Richard and Tammy Easton previously approved by the council in 2018 but did not include passage of the ordinance. The ordinance will likely come next month. The ordinance contained a typographical error when presented on Monday.

The council approved a Liquor License to TKC Investment LLC so that beer can be served at the August 27th Powersports Night planned in Bethany.

Bethany City Administrator Jacob Taylor also announced that the Sales Tax Revenue received by Bethany for July of 2022 is the highest sales tax revenue received in the past 10 years.
