Cameron Woman Charged With Burglary and Assault Charges

Cameron Police responded to a report of a burglary in progress Monday evening just before 9 p.m. at a residence on West Prospect Street.

In a probable cause statement filed with the court, the responding officer says when he made contact with the reporting party, the victim said he had been asleep when 36-year old Abigail Ann Caselman entered into his home. The victim said he tried to stop Caselman, but she grabbed a knife and swung it at him.

Caselman and the victim had purportedly been in a relationship from which she still had a key to the victims residence.

Authorities have charged Caselman with Burglary in the first degree and Domestic Assault. She was taken into custody and released on her own recognizance. Caselman is set to appear in court on January 19th.
