Chillicothe Police Report for 9/9/21

Thursday, September 9th

12:31 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a dog running at large in the 300 block of N. Washington St. The dog was taken to the animal shelter by private vehicle.

12:46 a.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 1000 block of S. Washington St.

6:12 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a business alarm in the 500 block of Park Ln. Officers discovered there was no emergency.

6:57 a.m., Officers took a report of a runaway juvenile in the 2100 block of Ridgecrest Dr. The investigation is on-going.

8:18 a.m., Officers were out at the courthouse for court duties.

8:20 a.m., Officers conducted a well-being check in the 1300 block of Miller St. The person was found to be okay.

8:51 a.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 1200 block of N. Washington St.

9:39 a.m., Officers spoke with a citizen about a possible scam at the Police Department. The citizen declined to file a report at that time.

9:40 a.m., Officers were dispatched to a possible parking violation in the area of Dorney Dr. and Fair St. The vehicle was moved.

10:20 a.m., Officers spoke with a citizen who provided further information regarding an on-going investigation at the Police Department.

11:16 a.m., a citizen dropped off lost property to the Police Department. Currently, the owner is unknown.

11:40 a.m., a citizen from another state called the Police Department to report a possible crime of identity theft/fraud. It was discovered the victim and suspect have the same name but different Social Security Numbers and Dates of Birth. The citizen was referred to their local law enforcement for further assistance.

1:11 p.m., Officers were out at the courthouse for court duties.

1:33 p.m., Officers spoke with a citizen with questions about an investigation at the Police Department.

2:34 p.m., Officers assisted a stranded motorist in the 10 block of N. Washington St.

3:23 p.m., Officers assisted Deputies with the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office with an investigation in the 500 block of Vine St.

3:31 p.m., Officers arrested a 34-year-old male for operating a motor vehicle while driver’s license revoked and driving the wrong way on a one-way street following a traffic stop on Cherry St. at Clay St. The male was processed at the Police Department and released pending a court appearance.

3:31 p.m., Offices conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 400 block of Locust St.

3:58 p.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 1200 block of N. Washington St.

4:59 p.m., Officers conducted follow-up on an investigation in the 2700 block of N. Washington St.

5:31 p.m., Officers took a report for drug offenses in the 10 block of Brunswick St. The investigation is on-going.

8:51 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a dog in distress in the area of Keith Ave. and Fifth Ave. Officers discovered the dog’s cable had become twisted and was choking the dog. Officers were able to free the dog but were unable to contact the owner at that time. The investigation is on-going.

11:19 p.m., Officers were dispatched to a residential alarm in the 100 block of Brunswick St. Officers discovered there was no emergency.

Officers conducted traffic stops, business checks and responded to 68 calls for service on Thursday, September 9th, 2021.
