City Of Mount Ayr Selected For Downtown Revitalization Funding

The City of Mount Ayr has been selected for grant funding to be used towards revitalization of their downtown. During a meeting Monday, Mount Ayr’s Board of Aldermen were notified that they have been selected for $750,000 in funding which can be used for the revitalization of the square in downtown Mount Ayr.

Council members reviewed the options available to the council to sell two properties owned by the city, one of which includes a nuisance. The properties are located on Jefferson and South Cleveland Streets. The council directed city officials to make preparations for selling the properties by sealed bids.

Mount Ayr’s council also plans to confirm Attorney Jason Palmer for the city at a future meeting.
