Contractor for Little Otter Creek Reservoir in Caldwell County Approved

The contractor for the Little Otter Creek reservoir coming to Caldwell County has been approved.
Contractor Phillips Hardy, Incorporated of Booneville, was approved with a bid of $14.4 million on this very large project.
The reservoir is planned to be a 345-350 acre lake, with a 72 foot tall dam that spans 2400 feet long.
Caldwell County Commissioner Bud Motsinger explained that preliminary work will likely start in March, but this construction is expected to last for 3 years as long as weather is permitting of that.
It is possible it will take a few years after construction is completed before it is filled, because that process will rely on runoffs to fill it.
