Dahmer Sweeps Awards at MSF Sheep Show, Reagan Rodgers 4-H Champion

The final trip for Payge Dahmer into the show ring at the Missouri State Fair’s Sheep Pavilion paid off for two of her entries, as the Nevada graduate claimed both reserve and grand champion honors Thursday afternoon. Dahmer tells Regional Radio she’s blessed to have achieved the double as well as a third straight trip to the Sale of Champions.

Dahmer’s crossbred lamb won top honors, weighing 137 pounds, while her 123-pound Hampshire picked up reserve. She says it’s the highlight of an already successful showing season.

Payge Dahmer represented Nevada FFA and is a nursing major at Pittsburg State University. She was last year’s Reserve Grand Champion exhibitor and won Grand Champion honors in 2021.

The top 4-H lamb was a crossbred exhibited by Hadley Artz of Polk County, while Reagan Rodgers of Andrew County exhibited the reserve 4-H champion, a Hampshire.
