Despite Record High Gas Prices Missouri Remains One of the Least Expensive States

(Missourinet) Drivers could be in for a cruel summer when it comes to gas prices.  As Joey Parker reports, the rising national average for a gallon of gas has not fallen for nearly a month.

“Not only have they not dropped gas prices set a record high Monday, according to Triple-A.  The national average for a gallon is now $4.59 and all 50 states are seeing prices north of $4 per gallon.

Missouri’s average is now 4.15 a gallon, which is a record high for the Show Me State.  Some of Missouri’s cheapest gas can be found in the Kansas City area as well as St. Joseph, Joplin and Saline County.  The highest prices are in the St. Louis Metro.

It doesn’t feel like it when we swipe that card but ours is among the top ten states with the least expensive gas.
