Eagleville Native Establishes Scholarship for Ag & Business Students from North Harrison, South Harrison

MARYVILLE, MO – An Eagleville native has established a scholarship for graduates of North Harrison and South Harrison high schools who attend Northwest Missouri State University for agriculture or business.

The Ed and Judy (Bolar) Jones Scholarship fund was founded by Ed Jones, a 1956 graduate of North Harrison and named after himself and his late wife, Judy, a 1957 graduate of South Harrison High School.

Jones attended Northwest Missouri State where he learned about the agriculture field and practiced his skills at the University Farm. He later spent 35 years working for American Family Insurance where he retired in 2000.

Students who graduated from North Harrison or South Harrison and are attending Northwest are now eligible to apply for the $1,000 scholarship that will be awarded for the first time for the 2024-25 academic year. The scholarship fund remains open to accept future contributions from donors. More information on applying for, or contributing to the scholarship fund can be found at nwmissouri.edu.
