Four Injured in Buchanan County Crash Thursday

Four people suffered injuries in a Buchanan County crash Thursday afternoon.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the accident occurred on I-29 as 26-year-old Lee’s Summit resident Kameron J. Turner headed northbound.

Troopers say Turner struck the towed unit of another northbound vehicle, lost control, and struck a second northbound vehicle driven by 42-year-old Wathena, Kansas resident Sherene Daniels.

That collision pushed Daniels’ vehicle into a northbound Ford Fusion driven by 30-year-old Shawnee, Kansas resident Cole A. Fergus.

Turner’s vehicle went off the west side of the road, struck a cable barrier, and came to a rest.

Daniels’ vehicle overturned and came to a rest on its wheels.

Fergus lost control, began to spin, and struck a Honda Civic driven by a 17-year-old Saint Joseph teen.

Fergus ultimately came to a rest off the east side of the road, while the teen ultimately came to a controlled stop on the shoulder.

Turner suffered minor injuries.

Daniels suffered serious injuries, while two juvenile passengers, a 7-year-old boy and an 11-year-old girl, suffered minor injuries.

All four sought treatment at Mosaic in Saint Joseph, and they all wore seat belts at the time of the crash.
