Governor Coming In Region Thursday For Signing Ceremonies

Missouri Governor Mike Parson will be in the region Thursday for a couple of ceremonial signings.

Governor Parson will be at the Milan Community Center for the signing ceremony for Senate Resolution 7. That resolution affirms the support of the Missouri Senate and House of Representatives for funding of the North Central Missouri Regional Water Commission project that provides a commitment of money from the Multipurpose Water Resource Program Funding. It would not exceed a total annual cost of $1.5 million dollars and would not exceed $24 million over the life of the contract.

The Governor will host a signing ceremony at North Central Missouri College in Trenton late Thursday afternoon for House Bill 574. That bill’s intent is to protect agricultural producers from those who seek access to facilities until false pretenses. The bill specifies the Missouri Department of Agriculture, the United States Department of Agriculture, the county sheriff and any other federal or Missouri state agency with statutory or regulatory authority have exclusive authority to inspect the grounds or facilities in Missouri. Facilities include those used for the production of eggs, milk or other dairy products, or raising of livestock.
