Graves Introduces American Family And Private Property Defense Act

Missouri 6th District Congressman Sam Graves says a resolution that he has introduced comes after charges were filed against a St Louis couple who displayed weapons in their effort to defend their property.

House Resolution 7716 has been introduced as the American Family and Private Property Defense Act. It would prevent U.S. citizens from being prosecuted for using force in an effort to protect themselves, another person, or private property against intruders. Graves says the legislation would allow Americans to use force without initially retreating from intruders.

Mark and Patricia McClosky is the St Louis couple that face charges from the St Louis Circuit Court.

Missouri’s 8th District Congressman Jason Smith joined Congressman Graves in the introduction.
