Graves Secures Funding For Cameron Airport Project
Congressman Sam Graves says he secured five-point-two million dollars for the reconstruction of the Cameron Memorial Airport runway in the Fiscal Year 2024 appropriations bill signed into law last month.
The reconstruction of Runway 17-35 at the Cameron Memorial Airport will increase aviation safety.
The current deterioration of the runway surface is such that it will become a safety hazard in the future.
“Our rural airports are incredibly important to North Missouri,” Rep. Sam Graves said.
“Cameron Memorial Airport is an important economic driver for the region, supporting flight training, aerial agricultural spraying, recreational flying, and more. The extensive durability cracking on the Airport’s only runway means it needs to be replaced to allow these operations to continue well into the future. I’m thrilled to secure this funding to keep Cameron’s airport in use for years to come.”
Cameron Mayor Becky Curtis said, “The City of Cameron and I personally would like to thank Congressmen Graves for his important and generous addition of 5.22 million dollars to this year’s appropriations bill for the replacement of the Cameron Municipal Airport runway. This is an important asset for both our community and Northern Missouri. We look forward to continuing to meet aviation needs for rural NW Missouri.”
