Independence Man Charged in Alleged ATM Theft in Richmond

An Independence man faces two felony charges in Ray County Court.
Court documents say Montez Javell Sherman faces felony charges of stealing 25 thousand dollars or more and first-degree property damage.
Records list the charges from January 31.
A probable cause statement accuses Sherman of committing a smash-and-grab of an ATM in Richmond and stealing over 15 thousand dollars.
The court denied Sherman’s bond.
Future court dates are pending.
